Šantovka locality

Šantovka multifunctional scheme is located in the very heart of Olomouc. Site area of the former Milo Olomouc factory amounts to nearly 11 ha and will be developed in several phases into a new city district. Galerie Šantovka represents the first phase of an overall revitalization. Consequently, construction of more than 500 high standard modern apartments will follow in the southern part of the development area. The mixed use development with offices, residential and services will form the third phase to the east of Galerie Šantovka.

Palacky University

Since medieval ages Olomouc has been a significant cultural and educational centre. Palacky University was founded in 1573 which makes it the second oldest university in the Czech Republic. Most of its activities are located in the historical buildings in the UNESCO preserved area. However, the university has also invested the modern buildings. Currently, the university has 8 faculties and approximately 21.000 students.

University campus at 17. listopadu boulevard neigbours with the new Šantovka district. University Administration is planning to open its info-centre at Galerie Šantovka.

City centre

Olomouc prides from the second largest historically preserved area in the Czech Republic. Since 2000 Olomouc has been inscribed in UNESCO’s List of World’s Cultural Heritage due to its baroque Holy Trinity Column. Olomouc is the regional capital, seat of ancient university and the archbishopric. Its position in the centre of Moravia as well as an excellent transportation connection via motorway and railway network has predestined Olomouc to become an attractive destination for tourists, businessmen, entrepreneurs and a cultural, social and economic centre of the region.

Galerie Šantovka is situated within 10 minutes walking distance from the historical city centre.

Parks of Olomouc

Olomouc benefits from several significant and unique parks. Bezručovy sady with its botanical garden and a famous rosary with the exposure of roses and other flowers is situated adjacent to the ancient city bastions. Smetanovy sady with 710 m long Rudolf alley is also a home of Olomouc exhibition area renowned for its annual flower exhibition Flora Olomouc.

Bezručovy sady will be directly accessible via the footbridge from the 1st floor of Galerie Šantovka. Smetanovy sady are within two minutes walking distance.

Buses

Next to tram line network buses form an integral part of the Olomouc public transport.

Important transportation hub "Tržnice" connecting all public transport lines and suburban bus lines is in the vicinity of Galerie Šantovka.

Railway

Olomouc is a regional transportation hub important for both public as well as cargo transport. It is one of the few cities incorporated in the Super City Pendolino speed train network and has direct transportation connection to Poland, Russia and Slovakia.

The closest railway station "Olomouc - Smetanovy sady" is situated approximately 300 m from Galerie Šantovka.

New tram line

A new tram line, linking the historical city centre with the southern part of the city, will form a part of Šantovka multifunctional scheme. Investors of Šantovka closely cooperate with the municipal authorities and will bear a significant portion of the total cost for the new infrastructure.

A new tram stop will be located directly at the Galerie Šantovka entrance.
